- Shop-floor data capture
- Actual production costing
Who it suits
Managers who need to know what runs next and whether material is ready.
Teams balancing orders against capacity and material availability.
Supervisors recording output, scrap and downtime as it happens.
Teams that need real product cost rather than an estimate.
What planning covers
Bills of materials
Multi-level recipes with wastage rates, kept current as products change.
Material requirements
What is needed, how much is in stock, and what must be purchased — calculated before the run starts.
Work orders
Orders issued to the floor with quantities, routing and target dates.
Shop-floor tracking
Produced quantities, scrap and downtime recorded as the work happens.
Tip: Get the bills of materials right before switching on costing. Every downstream number depends on them.
Live in three steps
Products, recipes and routings are set up and verified against actual practice.
Requirements are calculated from orders and stock, and work orders are issued.
Floor data is captured and actual cost is calculated per order.

Common questions
Our recipes change often — is that a problem?
No, provided versioning is used. Each work order references the recipe version in force when it was issued, so historical costs stay accurate.
Can we track work in progress?
Yes. Semi-finished stages are defined as their own items, so WIP is visible rather than hidden between raw material and finished goods.
Do operators need to use a computer?
Shop-floor screens work on tablets and touch terminals, with barcode entry for the common actions.
How accurate is the costing?
As accurate as the data captured on the floor. That is why we spend time on the capture points before switching costing on.
